Jerome E. Westendorf

WESTENDORF, Jerome "Jerry" age 90 passed away, Friday, June 03, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Olivia Westendorf, son, Edward Westendorf and ten siblings: Walter, Bertha, Florence, Helen, Irene, Sister Olivia, Joseph, Eugene, Albert and Viola. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Pauline (Zink) Westendorf and 6 children: Ann (Bill) Hirt, Mary (Jim) Scherl, Mark (Mary Tom), Betty (Dave) Krebs, Tom (Susie) and Jane Westendorf (Kevin OHearn), 26 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Bill (Julie) Zink and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was a 1938 graduate of Chaminade High School and inducted in the Hall of Fame at Chaminade Julienne and a 1943 graduate of University of Dayton where he was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 1970; he served as President of University of Dayton Alumni Association, was a Captain in the US Army Infantry during WWII and was a CPA for over 50 years. Jerry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend and will be missed by all. His kindness, gentleness and humor will never be forgotten. Visitation will be Sunday, June 5th from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave, Dayton. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, June 6th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Dayton.
