WESTENDORF, Jerome "Jerry" age 90 passed away, Friday, June 03, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Olivia Westendorf, son, Edward Westendorf and ten siblings: Walter, Bertha, Florence, Helen, Irene, Sister Olivia, Joseph, Eugene, Albert and Viola. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Pauline (Zink) Westendorf and 6 children: Ann (Bill) Hirt, Mary (Jim) Scherl, Mark (Mary Tom), Betty (Dave) Krebs, Tom (Susie) and Jane Westendorf (Kevin OHearn), 26 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Bill (Julie) Zink and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was a 1938 graduate of Chaminade High School and inducted in the Hall of Fame at Chaminade Julienne and a 1943 graduate of University of Dayton where he was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 1970; he served as President of University of Dayton Alumni Association, was a Captain in the US Army Infantry during WWII and was a CPA for over 50 years. Jerry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend and will be missed by all. His kindness, gentleness and humor will never be forgotten. Visitation will be Sunday, June 5th from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave, Dayton. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, June 6th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Dayton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jerrys name may be made to: The House of Bread, 9 Orth Ave, Dayton 45402 or Catholic Social Services, 922 W. Riverview Ave, Dayton 45402
