Joann Balke

Balke, Joann, age 88, of Kettering, passed away Tuesday December 24, 2013. Joann was a parishioner of Ascension Catholic Church. Joann is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years Cyril A. Balke, her parents Joseph and Ann Pohl and her brother Jerry Pohl. Joann is survived by her five daughters, Sandra (Tom) Ireland, Sharon (Patrick) Saunders, Sue (Tony) Sorice, Jackie (Bob) Eversole, Theresa (Rob) Clausing; 13 grandchildren, Sharlene, Tracy, Michele, Michael, Andrew, Aaron, Amanda, Angi, Rodney, Bobby, Jennifer, Stephanie, and Nicole; 18 great-grandchildren; her sister, Kay (Ron) King; her brother, Joe (Joan) Pohl; and sister-in-law Clemmie Pohl. The family will receive friends Monday December 30th at Ascension Church, 2025 Woodman Drive in Kettering from 10-11am followed by a Catholic Mass at 11:00. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Joann was a very loving and devoted wife, the most wonderful mother in the world and loving grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American cancer society.
