Jeckering, Joseph (Joe), Sr., age 85 of Centerville, passed away Sunday February 16, 2025, after a long illness. Joe is survived by his loving wife, Paulette (Schommer) Jeckering; four sons and daughters-in-law, Joe Jr. (Karen), Chris (Sherri), Matthew (Sharon), Rob (Lisa); a daughter and son-in-law, Maria (Dan) Wolff; a sister and brother-in-law, Joanne (Ernie) Winner; a sister- in-law, Patricia Florkey; a brother-in-law, Paul (Mickey) Schommer; grandchildren, Brad, Kyle, Chip/Cory, Zachary, Joshua/Alex, Samuel, Adam, Samantha (Alex) West, Michael (Jorden) Hale, David/Hayley Hale, Stefanie Wolff, Daniel Wolff, Bridgett Wolff; great grandchildren, Cameron Joseph, Mackenzie, Zoe, Moira; many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Joe was a 1958 graduate of Chaminade High School in Dayton and served his country during the Vietnam War as a supply specialist with the 809th Engineer Corps, building the Freedom Highway in Thailand. He was a loving and proud father and enjoyed a long, wonderful marriage of 62 years with his beloved wife Paulette. Joe loved to share his famous popcorn balls with family and friends every Christmas-one of countless memories we will cherish. He will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to be in his life. Thanks to the caring staff at the VA Hospital and the Patton Place. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 20 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 am Friday, February 21 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial at Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
