BARNES, JOHN PAUL, age 58 passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 7:23 in the morning, John began his new life in Heaven. He fought the brave fight for over 2 years, never complaining, never losing hope, and never losing his faith or trust in God. John’s main purpose in life was to reach out to others in kindness, support, encouragement and to share the hope that is available to anyone who chooses to trust in Christ. Through his 30 years on the Dayton Police Department as patrolman, sergeant, and Lieutenant he never ceased in sharing his faith. He volunteered on numerous boards to help protect and strengthen our community. He dedicated his time in coaching his daughter’s soccer team, leading Sunday school classes and assisting with various programs within the Churches that we have attended. John has lived a good life. He was born in Richmond, IN, grew up in Canton, OH and raised a family of his own in Dayton, OH. John’s greatest career accomplishments were playing football and graduating from Miami University of Ohio, retiring from the Dayton Police Department, and beginning G2G security and consulting company with his longtime friend, Mark Stusek. John’s greatest personal accomplishments were being a devoted husband, father, family man and friend. John will be so missed on this earth, but we know that we will see him again one day in Heaven.
