KEYES, John Charles (Jack). Age: 90 years. Born in 1922, Jack was the youngest and last surviving child of William A. and Anna (Schwind) Keyes. A lifelong resident of Dayton, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and five sisters. After being honorably discharged from the Army Air Force in 1942, he attended the University of Arizona, and graduated from the University of Dayton in 1948. He founded and owned the Variety Vending Company in 1948, before joining the family business in 1955. Jack was the Vice-President and General Manager of the Schwind Realty Company, President of Keyes, Inc. Realtors and President of the Moraine Development Company. Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary Katherine Keyes (nee Cashman), and by his seven children, Tess (James) Servaites of Englewood, Mickey (Michael) Zimmer of Los Angeles, CA, Alice (Michael) Bowhay of Amelia Island, FL, Carol (Mark) Castor of St. Ignatius, MT, Denis Keyes of Charleston, SC, David (Irene) Keyes of San Rafael, CA, and Noreen (Miguel) Keyes of Los Angeles, CA. Jack was also greatly loved by his 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A trustee of the Joseph E. and Mary E. Keller Foundation, Jack was also a private pilot, avid golfer and accomplished amateur pianist. Visitation will be held Monday, December 17th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave, Dayton. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 18th at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 523 Xenia Ave, Dayton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, with gratitude from the Keyes family for their excellent care.
