OBRIEN, John D. ("Dee") Age 64 of Oakwood passed away Tuesday, after a brief and sudden illness. He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Eleanor and Jack and a sister Maureen. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary, their daughter Mary Pat (Jeff) Siehl, their sons Jack and Michael of Loveland Ohio. Four brothers, Mike, Tom, Terry and Dan. One sister, Mary Anne, and his six Hoyne sisters; Nancy, Jane, Pattie, Kathy, Maureen, and Mary Tee, and host of nieces and nephews. Known by many of his friends by the name "John" he was also known by his family and very old friends as "Dee". He was a graduate of Chaminade High School (62) and The University of Notre Dame (66). John enjoyed career as a stock broker and investment advisor. He loved to play golf and will be greatly missed by many of his buddies at Community Golf Course and by The Kramers Black Cats Golf League. He deeply loved His Notre Dame Fightin Irish Football and seldom missed watching their games on TV with friends and family. He enjoyed simple pleasures, like a good St. Patricks Day Celebration, an Irish victory, or the ritual of opening the daily mail at 5:00pm with Mary while enjoying an ice cold "RED POP". Mass of Christian Burial will be at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 1322 Brown Street, Friday at 10:00am, preceded by a prayer service 9:30am at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Avenue. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4-7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Dayton and or American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
