Joseph R. Veda

Veda, Joseph Robert, age 84, of Oakwood, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017.  Joseph was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds, the UD Flyers and Notre Dame Football.  He served in the Korean Conflict with the U.S. Army.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary; a sister, Sr. Catherine Mary Veda, OFM; a sister, Catherine Krasnoski, brother-in-law, John Krasnoski.  He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Helen; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Dr. Peter Smith of NJ, Mary Lynne and John Klinge of IL; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Jody Veda of AZ; six grandchildren, Ryan, Caroline, Alexandra Smith, Cassandra Longo, John & William Klinge; four nieces, Laurie (James) Bay, Amy Horst, Julie Blanchard and Sally Wood.  Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00am Friday June 9th at Holy Angels Catholic Church, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Child Society of Dayton, PO Box 292058, Dayton, OH. 45429.  Arrangements by The Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road.
