MAURO, Josephine 75, of Centerville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday July 9, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Michelina Mauro and her sisters Mary and Alfred Hensley and Rose Mary and Harold Barnes. Her brother John and Rita Mauro and her nieces and nephews; Debora Barnes, Patti (Mauro) and Bill Saunders, Tom Mauro, Kathy (Mauro) and Tim Grobe, Barbara Morris, Linda (Hensley) and Patrick Meyer, and Kathy and Steven Hensley and other relatives and friends survive her. Jo was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. Jo also lived in Chicago, Illinois where she worked in the Mayor's office and pursued a professional singing career. Jo's Civil Service career spanned more than three decades at Wright Patterson AFB. She served her country in many system program offices, initially in administrative roles and later as a Configuration Management specialist for Air Force information systems that provide critical logistics, financial and war fighter support. She earned many superior performance awards. Jo was a member of the Church of the Incarnation. She was also a member of the John Pirelli Lodge #1633, OSIA. Jo enjoyed many other social and civic clubs over the years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of the Incarnation in Centerville, Ohio on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. Father Lawrence Mierenfeld presiding. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by the Westbrock Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the ALS Association in her name. Jo was a generous person with an infectious sense of enthusiasm for life and family, and will be greatly missed by her family, friends and everyone who knew her well.
