Judith L. Rhoades, age 70, of Troy, OH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Even through the disease, Judy remained a positive, upbeat person, quick to laugh, and reluctant to despair. Judy was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, and friend, who cared for her mother (Catherine Wellbaum) and brother (Richard Wellbaum) in their last years, as well as her husband, Jack Rhoades, to whom she was married for 37 years until his passing in 2000. She is also preceded in death by her father, Robert Wellbaum, Sr. Judy is survived by her brother Robert Wellbaum (Pam), her four children, Lee Rhoades (Marianne), Michael Rhoades (Brigitte), Holly (Rhoades) Saylor (Mike), Robert Rhoades (Aleth), and her niece Nicole (Wellbaum) Buckingham (Jeff). She will also be dearly missed by her 11 grandchildren: Mackenzie & Natalie Rhoades; Sarah, Kelly & Emily Rhoades; Morgan, Madeline & Katherine Saylor; Jack, Eli & Lee Rhoades. Visitation will be held Friday, December 30th from 10am – 11am, at the First Presbyterian Church of Troy, 20 S. Walnut St., Troy, OH 45373, with funeral service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Cincinnati or the Alzheimer's Association.
