Snyder, Julie M. (nee Timmer), 94, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away on December 01, 2015 at St. Leonard’s Community. Born July 17, 1921 in Dayton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Albert J. and Helen M. Timmer. Julie was preceded in death by her husband Barth J. Snyder as well as her sister, Frances Wolf, and brothers, David, Robert and Jerome Timmer.
She is survived by her three children, Barth (Laura) Snyder of Beavercreek, Louise Snyder (Laurie Bankston) of Waynesville, and John Snyder (Edward Lehman) of Beavercreek; two granddaughters, Becky (Jarod) Rehmann of Fairfax, VA and Rachel Snyder (fiancé Collin June) of Westerville, OH; two great grandchildren, Therese and Gianna Rehmann of Fairfax, VA.; sister-in-law Marie Timmer of Livermore, CA as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Julie was a proud graduate of Julienne High School class of 1939. She attended and worked at the University of Dayton in the 1940s-50s. UD is where she met her husband Barth, a professor in both the School of Business Administration and School of Law. They were married in 1954.
Julie was active at St. Charles Borromeo parish attending daily Mass and contributing in many ways to the good of the parish. She also volunteered at the Second Shelf Thrift Store, a non-profit organization supporting the developmentally disabled in the Dayton community.
Julie loved to walk and meet old and new friends alike for coffee at Town & Country. She was an accomplished pianist, avid reader and skilled bridge player.
Above all else, she was a loving and inspirational presence in the lives of her family and friends. She will be remembered lovingly and missed deeply by all who knew her. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 AM Friday, December 4 at St. Charles Borromeo Church. The family will receive friends Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the church. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by the Westbrock Funeral Home, Bigger Rd. May God’s love be with you always, as your strength, your inspiration, your reward. If desired, donations may be made to the St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Barth J. Snyder Scholarship Fund (c/o UD Law School), or the charity of your choice.
