ROTTERMAN, KARL P., age 85, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Hospice of Dayton after a lengthy illness, at his side as always was his beloved wife of 65 years, Ann. Karl was a WWII veteran and a survivor of the Battle of Iwo Jima. He received 2 Purple Heart Medals for his service in the United States Marine Corps. For many years Karl and his business partner, Emerson Browning owned Triad Mold and Die, a local tool shop. Karl was a volunteer firefighter for Beavercreek Township for many years, was in the woodcarving club at Hithergreen and flew model airplanes with the Works Club. Preceding Karl in death was his sister, Rose Marie Harm and parents, Carl and Lillian Rotterman. He is survived by his brother, Joe Rotterman and his wife, Barbara, his wife, Ann, daughter, Diane and son, Dan, his grandchildren: James Drescher and Kelly Hwang and six great-grandchildren: Ellie, Ava, Branson, Sage, Becca and Tyler. Visitation will be held Friday, August 26th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road, Kettering 45440. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 27th at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6245 Wilmington Pike, Centerville.
