SHELTON,SR., KENNETH E., age 83 of Sugarcreek Township passed away at home Wednesday, July 3, 2013 after suffering 43 long courageous years with Multiple Sclerosis. He was born July 16, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Minnie Shelton; step-mother, Marie Shelton; sister, Doris Boland and brother, Don Shelton. Ken shared 61 years with his loving wife, Joan (Weis) Shelton. His close family includes son and daughter-in-law Ken and Luann Shelton, 3 grandsons: Zach, Travis and Kyle Shelton, brother, Glenn (Rita) Shelton; nephew, Tom Morrow; special friend, Patty Eberle; many nieces, nephews and "adopted" grandchildren. Ken served 8 years in the United States Air Force, which included protecting our country during the Korean War. He furthered his veteran connections by becoming a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was a home builder for 20+ years in the Beavercreek and Kettering area. Ken lived life happily and lovingly with his favorite past time, his family. The family wishes to thank Dr. Fleagle, Dr. Le, friends and neighbors for their care, love and support. Visitation will be Monday, July 8th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road, Kettering. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. at Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Drive, Kettering. Burial will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery.
