Schommer, Laura (Crimmins), formally of Stamford, Connecticut passed away April 15, 2015 after a courageous 21 year battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father James Francis Crimmins and Mary Teresa (McManus) Crimmins.
Laura is survived by her Soul Mate, Fred Schommer; Son and Daughter-in-Law Matthew (Elizabeth) Schommer; adored Grand Daughter Libby Schommer; 3 siblings Sheila and husband Gary Romes, Brian and wife Diane Schommer, Gail and husband Bob Zimmerman; 9 Brothers and sisters in laws Judy Smiley-Josselyn, Dick (Elle) Schommer, Ken (Barb) Schommer, Bob (Trish) Schommer, Ray (Patty) Schommer, Kathy Carter, Bill (Kathy) Schommer, Jim Schommer, John (Ellen) Schommer. As well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Laura worked for over 30 years for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, most recently as the fourth grade teacher at Bishop Leibold School. She also volunteered for many organizations associated with her parishes. She is irreplaceable as a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and teacher. Her legacy will continue to live on through the humor filled stories her many friends, family, and students will tell, and the keen sense of sarcasm she instilled in all of us.
Family will receive friends at Westbrock Funeral Home on Bigger Rd. in Kettering, Ohio on Sunday, April 19, 2:00-6:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 20th, at 10:30AM at St. Henry’s Catholic Church. A celebration of Laura’s life is planned following the internment. Everyone is welcome to come. Location and time will be announced on Sunday and Monday.
