Laverna Lewis

Lewis, Laverna A. "Arline", born November 24, 1919 in Greenville, Ohio, died at the age of 92 on December 24, 2011 at Walnut Creek Nursing Center. Arline was preceded in death by husband Thomas Lewis, parents Glen and Janette Martin, sister Doris and her husband Joe Marzluft, son Daniel J. Lewis and granddaughter Angela King. She is survived by son Glen Landis and his wife Penny of Dayton, OH, grandson Jeff Landis of Middletown, OH, granddaughter Julie Landis of Maryland, daughter-in-law Robin Lewis and grandson Tyler Lewis of Dayton, OH. She has five great-grandchildren, Meghan and Ryan Frick, Jennifer, Jaimee and Joe King and great-great-granddaughter Natalee McKenzie, all from Maryland. She is also survived by cousins, close friends Don and Sally Winegar and their family, and other friends. Arline was a member of Ascension Parish in Kettering. She had been active in the PTA, Cub Scouts and other service organizations. She was a founding member of the Birchwood Swim Club in Kettering in the late 50's. Arline and family are very appreciative for the care she received at Kettering Medical Center and Walnut Creek Nursing and Assisted Living. The doctors, nurses and supporting staff are outstanding. Funeral Service will be 10:30am Wednesday at The Calvary Cemetery Chapel in Kettering. The family will receive friends from 9:30—10:30 am at the Chapel
