Leroy F. "Butch" Romer

Romer, LeRoy Frederick “Butch”, age 87 of Centerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2022.
He was born on June 13, 1935, in Dayton, Ohio to Carl and Annette (Mader) Romer. He graduated from Chaminade High School, class of 1953.
LeRoy proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1960 where he was an Army Engineer and was awarded the Medal of Good Conduct.
He was the retired President and Co-Owner of M&R Electric Motor Service in Dayton Ohio, a family-owned business, where he dedicated 50 years of service.
LeRoy was a member of the Knights of Columbus Dayton Council 500, American Legion Post 210 (Celina), Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Milton Athletic Club.
LeRoy is preceded in death by his wife Judith (Mantle), parents Carl Sr. and Annette, sister Della Schweller, brother Carl Jr., grandson Benjamin Rautio, and many special brothers & sisters-in-law.
He is survived by his loving family Mary & Andrew Ward, Stephen Romer, Charlene George, Sylvia & Timothy Whitford, Joyce Connell, and Pauline & Richard Rautio.
He loved his 20 grandchildren: Jason, Jennifer, Justin, Stephanie, Alexandria, Christopher, Michael, Janinne, Nathan, Marisa, Bethany, Joseph, Thomas, Leahne, Laura, Heather, Douglas, Benjamin, Holly, Sarah, and his 13 great-grandchildren.
LeRoy is survived by his devoted fiancée, Theola “Teddie” Warner, his sisters Lois Ulrich and Dolores Maloney, brother Robert and Margot Romer-Jordan, sister-in-law Victoria Carbone, brother-in-law Samuel and Rosalie Mantle, brother-in-law Thomas Jr. and Frances Mantle, sisters-in-law Nadine, Barbara, and Athene Mantle, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time at Lake St. Mary’s (Celina), fishing, boating, golfing, bowling, playing cards, and spending time with friends and family.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, November 7, 2022, from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave., Dayton, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2022, 12:00 noon, at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Kettering, Ohio. Burial at Calvary Cemetery immediately following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Albert the Great Catholic Church or Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School.
