Loraine Deis

DEIS, LORAINE A., age 99 of Centerville, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Born in Dayton, OH, she was the youngest child of George P. Deis and his second wife, Bessie Mahrt. She was a graduate of Corpus Christi Grade School and Steele High School. She loved working as a nurse for fifty years for Drs. Duffy, Wall and Maraboyina. After retiring at age 74, she became Peppi the Clown and enjoyed visiting nursing homes and marching in parades with her clown group. Loraine was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Bertha Deis, Edith Finke (Harry), Alma Deis, Adele Bennett (Steve) Rita Niederhauser (Jim); niece, Dorothy (Dick) Westbrock; nephew, John Bennett (Claudia); great-niece, Judy Grant (John) and great-nephew, Bob Westbrock. She is survived by niece, Patty Bennett; great nieces: Mary Lou Lubinski (Tom), Barbara Oxley and Kathleen Bennett Murray; great-nephews: Tom Westbrock (Darlene), David Bennett and many great-great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, April 12th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road, Kettering. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 13th at St. Leonard's Chapel, 8100 Clyo Road. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
