Brinkman, Louis Bernard, age 89, of St. Leonard Center, died July 13, 2014. He was born in Dayton, OH on October 29, 1924 to Joseph Henry Brinkman and Marie Dorothy Rose. He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda (DeWitt), 2007, parents, daughter Rita and grandson Christopher. Louis was also preceded by brother Vincent Brinkman, sisters-in-law Marlene Brinkman, Evelyn Brinkman, Bonnie DeWitt, Mary Jane Silcott and brothers-in-law Paul Kolhoff, James DeWitt, Marvin DeWitt and David Silcott. Louis was a1942 Graduate of Fairview High School. Surviving is his son and wife, Charles (Kathy) Brinkman and their children Dana Gifford (Jeremy) and Greg Brinkman (Emily). Son Michael and his children Megan Gladwell (Rick) and Michael Morris. Daughter Connie Turben (Mike) and their children Tony Turben (Lei), Jamie, Dawn (Barry), Chris (Terri), Jessie (Donnie). Daughter Rita's children Jeremy Gifford (Dana), Sean Gifford (Sarah), Jennifer Spivey (Shane), and Cory. Daughter Lisa Timmons and her children Joel David, Jared, Jenna and Jacob. Surviving also are 23 great-grand children. Surviving also are brothers Norman Brinkman (Doris), Don Brinkman, Tom Brinkman (Jan) and sisters Florence Kolhoff, Dorothy Rettich (Ray), and Joan Vallo (Bud). Louis was a WWII veteran with the US Army in Europe. He worked 40+ years for Standard Register. He was one of the founding family's in St. Lukes Catholic Church. He enjoyed lots of time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well many other family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00am Wednesday July 16, 2014 at the St. Leonard Center Chapel in Centerville. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8pm at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road, and Wednesday from 10-11:00am at the St Leonard Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or to St. Leonard Benevolent Fund.
