Major (Ret.) Douglas H. “Doug” Hulings, age 68, of Centerville, passed away on January 8, 2025. He was born in Warren, Pennsylvania, on January 19, 1956, the son of Harven and Maxine (Anderson) Hulings.
Doug proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring from active duty in 2002, and later retiring from service in the Civil Engineering Division at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in 2022. Through his time in the service, Doug enjoyed his deployments and travel around the world, especially Japan. In his free time, Doug enjoyed woodworking and was incredibly particular about caring for his lawn. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and Youngstown State! At home, he enjoyed with his favorite coffee from Starbucks, watching westerns and old horror movies. Above all, family was most important to Doug, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Doug leaves behind his beloved wife of 43 years, Beckie (Bell) Hulings; two sons, Brandon Hulings and Ryan (Courtney Rivest) Hulings; sister, Connie (Mike) Veronis; nieces and nephews, Beth Veronis, Jill (Scott) Dille & Family, Jason Bell and Lindsay Bell; special friend, Dave Barnett, along with his four-legged friends, Mia and Saige.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. in the WESTBROCK FUNERAL HOME, 5980 Bigger Road, Kettering. A celebration of Doug’s life and military service will be held on Friday beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Doug will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date in a private family ceremony.
