Margaret McLaughlin

McLAUGHLIN, MARGARET ANN (TOTH), age 90 (29), was released from Mother Earth to be with the Godhead on Friday, June 1, 2012 from her home. Mom was a native Daytonian, first generation German, from what is now NW Serbia. She graduated from Holy Rosary grade school, Kiser High School and a two year secretanial program. Mom worked during WWII for Delco Products. She married Dad, Joe McLaughlin, on October 26, 1946 and lived in New Jersey for 11 years. Returning to Dayton where Dad worked for the University of Dayton, Mom raised three children and then worked for the Dayton Board of Education for 20 years. She lived in her home for 54 years in Corpus Christi Parish where she was active in prayer groups and the prayerline. She was also a part of the Society of Mary connected with University of Dayton and the Marianists. Mom was a member of the LaSertoma Club for 35 years and a member of the Dayton Catholic Women's Club. She took ceramics at Sinclair after retirement. She kept up seven gardens at home and played bridge with the same group of ladies for 50 years. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Joe McLaughlin. She is survived by her son, Joseph R. McLaughlin, daughters: Dianne Marie McLaughlin (Gary) of Colorado and Patricia Ann McLaughlin (Larry) of Colorado, grandchildren: Colin Joseph Hickman, Nicole Louise Steinbach, Francis Joseph McLaughlin, Spencer Nolan McLaughlin, Maren Alexandra Klotz and Teresa LeeAnn Jetton. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 6th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave, Dayton. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 7th at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Burial will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to, Marianists "Miracle Malawi", 4425 W. Pine Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63108-2301.
