THALER, Margaret Brinkman Age 97, long time resident of Dayton and Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2008 surrounded by her family. She was born on March 5, 1911 in Dayton, Ohio, the first of 6 children. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy (Julienne High School) and Miami Jacobs Business School. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, William "Pete" Thaler, founder of Thaler Machine Company. She is survived by her three children: Joan (John) Virag of Atlanta, GA, Lynne (Jim) Marlow, of Sarasota, FL, and Bill (Deb) Thaler of Dayton. Also survived by her grandchildren Tanya Marlow Cox, Keith Marlow, Michael Virag, Greg Virag, Monica Thaler James, Pete Thaler, and Amanda Thaler and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Bob Brinkman and is survived by siblings: Charlie Brinkman, Mary Alice Fenelon, Jeanette Stragand, and Ruth Wooley. Margaret was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing until the age of 95 and continued playing duplicate bridge until her death. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon, January 2, 2009 at St. Albert the Great Church, burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the gathering room on the south side of the church.
