Marie L. Ruef

Ruef, Marie L., age 96 of Miami Township was born March 27, 1918, passed away Sunday, June 1st, 2014. Maria was an avid reader and loved to play cards. She was also adept at crocheting, making countless afghans for her family. She was a resident of the Sanctuary Assisted living facility where she moved after her husband died in 2010. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herman of 71 years in 2010. She was also preceded by her brother, Bernard and sister, Mary Canice. She is survived by her children, Edward (Catherine) Ruef, Sue Ann (Tom) Michel, Bernard (Rose) Ruef, James (Kristine) Ruef and Tina (Gary) Lammers; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Betty Carder and Janet Ruef. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am Friday June 6 at Emmanuel Church. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00-8:00 at the Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave. Burial, Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or Emmanuel Church, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
