Mark Christopher Schierloh

Mark Christopher Schierloh passed away on March 5, 2024.

Mark was born in Dayton, Ohio, on August 6, 1955. He was a warm, hilarious, loving person. Mark was a devoted family man, and nothing brought him more joy than being a grandparent. He cherished everyone in his family as well as many treasured friends and colleagues. He loved the Everton FC and Ohio State Buckeyes. Mark loved trying strangely-flavored snacks and drinks and was known for putting salt on absolutely everything. He would make his grandchildren into blanket burritos and spin them around to squeals of laughter. Mark loved all things England, history, and automobiles. He was a true gentleman – a gentle man – and would do anything he could to help others.

Mark’s career spanned decades. He was an administrator of two Christian Science nursing homes and served in the U. S. Air Force Reserves, retiring at Lt. Colonel. He finished his career as the Operations Manager at Glenmont Christian Science Nursing Home. He was always ready to step up with a helpful hand and wore many hats in that capacity.

He was a devoted Christian Scientist and served his church in a number of different roles over the years. His favorite was likely Sunday School teacher, as he always joked about being a big kid himself. Children adored our Mark.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathryn Schierloh; daughter and son-in-law, Kate and Keith Bojanowski; grandchildren Camden and Avianna Bojanowski, sister Christiane Schierloh and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, TSgt Jesse Schierloh; father, Paul Schierloh, and mother, Gloria Schierloh.
