Marlene Walling

WALLING, Marlene H. age 66, affectionately known as "Miss Marlene", died peacefully Saturday, April 30, 2011 with her family at her side. Marlene was born November 24, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio to Helen and Clifford Kelley, who preceded her in death. On June 11, 1966, Marlene married her lifetime love, John F. Walling. They had five children: Sharon (Jeff Jones), Barbara (Gary McKenzie), John II (Cindy), Brian (Brooke), and Eric (Monica).Marlene enjoyed travelling with her family, and together, John and Marlene toured all 50 states through many cross-country journeys. Marlene was an active member of the Dayton community, sharing her hand-made quilts, visiting with her many friends throughout the area, and holding season tickets to the Dayton Dragons, where she and her husband, John attended more than 200 home games. Marlene is survived by her husband, her brothers (Tom Kelley, Mickey Kelley) and sisters (Patti Bergen, Karen O'Rourke), her 5 children, 14 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild due in July. The family will welcome guests on Tuesday evening (Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45410) from 4:00-8:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, 10am at St Joseph Church (411 E. Second St., Dayton, OH 45402).There will be a prayer service 9:30 am Wednesday at the funeral home.
