Mary Calondis

CALONDIS, Mary Helen (nee Kruso) age 94, of Dayton, was born May 1st, 1915 and passed away March 12, 2010. Mrs Calondis was the co-owner and operator of the New Era Restaurant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gust Calondis in 1992; sons, Ernest and George Calondis; her parents, Steve & Rose (Batin) Kruso; brothers, Steve, Joe, John and Theodore Kruso; and her sister, Olga. She is survived by a son, Stephan Calondis; a daughter and son-in-law, Demetra & William Braun; a son and daughter-in-law, Peter & Felicia Calondis; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Calondis; brothers, Alex and Andrew Kruso; two sisters, Rose Motko and Pearl Stubblefield; grandchildren, Brenda Sizemore, Christina and Michael Calondis, David and Cathy Calondis, Anthony, Andrew and Aaron Braun, Brian Calondis, and Stephanie Geiger; and great-grandchildren, Devin Sizemore, Cheyenne Coyle, Amanda and Marisa Calondis, Noah, Ethan and Elliot Braun, Myles Calondis. Mass of Christian Burial 11am Tuesday March 16th at St. Anthony Church. Entombment will follow at Woodland Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Monday from 5-8pm at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Anthony Church.
