GERAGHTY, MARY ALICE, 85, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013 at Lincoln Park Manor. She was born August 10, 1927 to Thomas and Margaret Harrigan Geraghty of Cincinnati. After attending Nativity Parish School and graduating from Regina High School, Cincinnati in 1945 she began her career as a private secretary at the Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors in Dayton, retiring in 1987. Mary Alice had a lifelong love of the theater, movies and history. She supported the theatrical arts and music in the Dayton area for many years. She was an active performing member of the Black Friars, a Dayton theatrical group. Mary Alice was a long time member of the Church of the Holy Angels and an active member of their Leisure Club. Mary Alice is survived by her brother, Ed (Corinne) Geraghty; sisters: Kay (Jim) McElwain and Peggy (Jack) Carroll and brother, Tom (Suzanne) Geraghty. She is also survived by her long time special friends, Lou and Millie Homan. Mary Alice was a loving and generous aunt to several generations of nieces and nephews, who appreciated her vibrant personality and knowledge of family genealogy. The family of Mary Alice would like to thank the entire staff of Lincoln Park Manor for their efforts to encourage Mary Alice to accept and enjoy the later days of her life. We are especially thankful for the generous care she received from Hospice of Dayton. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 18th from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Holy Angels, 1322 Brown Street, Dayton. A brief ceremony will be held at Calvary Cemetery after the Mass. If desired a memorial for Mary Alice may be made to Hospice of Dayton or The Church of the Holy Angels School.
