REED, Mary E.
age 91, of Kettering, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband, John, in 2007. She was a parishioner at St. Albert the Great Church after previously being a parishioner at St. Charles Borromeo Parish. Mary enjoyed reading, playing bridge and discussing politics, although if asked, would not hesitate to mention that her biggest delight was her family. She is survived by three sons, John Jr. & wife, Marilyn of Oakwood, Jeffrey & wife, Tresa of Louisville, Kentucky, Joel & wife, Teresa of Loudon, Tennessee; sister, Bessie Cutler of Salisbury, Maryland; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth (Tyler) McNutt, Benjamin, Eric, Kristen, Emily, Catherine and Mackenzie, as well as one great-grandson, Cillian McNutt. A visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2018, followed by Mass of Christian Burial, both at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church at 12 Noon. Burial will follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
The family would like to take the opportunity to thank the nurses, physicians and other caregivers at Kettering Medical Center, Brookdale of Oakwood and Hospice of Dayton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton on behalf of Mary E. Reed. Arrangements entrusted to The Westbrock Funeral Home, Kettering.
