Strukamp, Mary Florence,
age 92, of Bethany Village in Centerville, Ohio, was granted eternal life on Friday, May 27, 2011 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born on February 15, 1919, in Greenville, Ohio to Alonzo and Genevieve Harless. She graduated from GHS, class of 1937 before moving to Dayton in 1939. She was married and widowed at a young age. Although she worked many years at Good Samaritan Hospital, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, and Rike's department store it was her role as mother to 7 children that is her legacy. Her unwavering faith has inspired many and she will be remembered by all who witnessed her life as a good and faithful servant of our Lord, even in times of adversity. She was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Church of Dayton, Ohio for many years where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Council 103. She was preceded in death by former husbands, Paul J. McLaughlin and William A. Strukamp; two sons, Dennis P. McLaughlin and W. Mark Strukamp and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Buehrle and Kristine Burson. She is survived by a son, Thomas E. (Diane) McLaughlin of Celina, Ohio; four daughters, Sheila Buehrle of Dayton, Ohio, Kathleen (James) Burson of Omaha, Nebraska, Ellen (John) Fackler of Centerville, Ohio, Gerry (Frank) Sarmir of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother, Thomas (Hazel) Harless of Satellite Beach, Florida, ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 30, 2011 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road, Kettering, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, 10:30 AM at the Church of Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave. Centerville, Ohio 45459 followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Mary Florence has asked for your prayers and that any donation be given to Hospice of Dayton or St. Vincent Hotel of Dayton.
