Maryann Aiello

AIELLO,(Volbrecht) Maryann
Age 81 was the only child born to Edward and Alberta Volbrecht at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio on November 29, 1933.
She went on to be with them and her husband Pete,in heaven, Wednesday, December 17th 2014, at Kettering Memorial Hospital.
She was a lifelong Catholic and attended St. Anthony Elementary School, and went on to study at Julienne High School where she met her dear friend Helena (Mejia)Paz. After High School she took a job at the University of Dayton where she met and fell in love with Pete her husband whom she married on June 4,1954. They settled in Dayton and had three children, Claire, Pete and Annie. Later they raised a grandson, Tony, as their own. They had many friends over the years and especially loved the Himes (Bill and Carlene) family, and their neighbors Gary and Bev Carpenter. She loved it when her dear friend Ann Au would take up residency once a year and cook Chinese food everyday for the month she would stay.
They moved to Miamisburg where they joined Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church. They resided there until 1999 when they moved to Kettering to be closer to their daughter Annie and their granddaughter Marta and soon after, their grandson Albert. She remained there after her husband's death on Christmas Eve 2002.
Many illnesses followed and she went onto live at Pinnacle Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Moraine Ohio. She enjoyed having many close friends over the years there. She ran the Store with her dear friend Wilma, and always talked about her friend Xenia whom she called BoBo. She loved all her smoking buddies especially Linda, Brenda and Lynne, whom she would hitch a ride with out to the bus stop where she had fun smoking her little cigars and sharing good times.
We would like to thank all of the staff over the years whom took so good care of her and who became her other family. She loved Connie who would help her straighten out her messes, Kari who she talked to about her love of dressing up with, and Cory, who she had wrapped around her little finger and she thought of him like a grandson.
We would also like to thank her friend Don Schweitzer, who would take her to breakfast and church on Sundays. She always looked forward going with him and his father. She especially loved it when they would go to Immaculate Conception Church on Sunday night to hear Father Satish, whom she thought the world of.
Maryann was like no other. She was always doing silly things and getting herself into trouble. That is what we loved about her, you just never knew what she was going to do. She will be greatly missed by her grandkids who thought she was a blast. She adored her great grandchildren, Gabe and Bella, who she always wanted a hug from.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Alberta Volbrecht, and her greatly missed husband Peter A. Aiello. She is survived by her daughters, Annie Kuzma (Al), Claire (Toi), and sons Pete (Christina), Tony, and Mike (Debbie) Casto, who she always thought of as one of her own. Also her grandchildren Christopher and Colleen Aiello and Marta and Albert Kuzma.
She planned her funeral right down to the prayer cards, and we know she is tickled pink that Fr. Satish will be doing her services.
There will a brief viewing before the 10:30 a.m. Mass starting at 9:30 a.m. MONDAY, DECEMBER 22, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2300 S. Smithville Rd, Dayton, OH 45420.
We also want to thank the staff in the ICU at Kettering Hospital, especially her nurse, Joy Fry, who was so good to her and her family. We appreciate you helping us all through this emotional day and being patient with Maryann all day long.
