Michael Owens

Michael W. Owens, age 56 of Monroe, OH passed away peacefully at Miami Valley Hospital on September 22, 2024. He was born in Versailles, KY to the late Juanita Estes Snapp and was proud to be a 10 year veteran of the US Army and US Army National Guard. Michael worked many years as Chief of K-9 search and rescue, notably working in NYC after 911 and in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Michael was a strong and witty man who loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Along with his mother, he was preceded in death by 3 siblings. He is survived by his daughters Ashley (Marcus) Combs and Bobbie (Daniel) Kallmeyer, grandchildren James, Bryson, Marcus II, Haileigh, Kyle, Tyler, Cheyenne and Hannah, his sister Linda and brother Donald, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members who will miss him dearly. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 12-1:00pm at Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave. Dayton, OH then proceed to Dayton National Cemetery at 1:30pm for a graveside service where military honors will take place beginning at 2:00pm
