Nancy L. Brayshaw passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018 in the comfort of her home in Lakewood, OH. Nancy was born in Dayton, OH, in 1944 to Fred and Margaret Dye. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Brayshaw, of 51 years, beloved children Michael Brayshaw and Missy Gibel (John), brother Fred Dye (Marcella) and four grandchildren: Celeste, Maggie, Jack and Mason. She was aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Nancy earned her Bachelors in Education from Miami University followed by a Masters in Education from Wright State University many years later. Nancy lived in Kettering, OH, for 40 years. She worked nearly 30 years as an elementary school teacher there and had a passion and knack for working with all children but had a special place in her heart for kids with special needs. Upon retirement, she and Mike enjoyed wintering in the Florida Keys, biking, kayaking, dancing and the joys of grandparenthood.
Services will be held in both Cleveland area and Dayton area. Visitation will be held at Chambers Funeral Home, 29150 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted, OH 44070, on Friday, January 5, 2018, 5-7pm with a memorial service to follow at 7pm. Services will also be held at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road, Kettering, OH 45440, on Sunday, January 7, 2018 with visitation 12-2pm and service to follow at 2pm.
