Nancy Stapleton

Nancy Stapleton (Ivins), age 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 2nd, in Springboro, OH. Born in Posttown, OH, Nancy was a dedicated public servant, working at the board of Elections for 18 ½ years, retiring as the Director of the Board of Elections in Warren County in 1990. Nancy loved her family deeply and found great joy in working in her flower gardens and crafting. Her passion for her beliefs was always evident in her actions and words. Affectionately known as "NanTater" by her nieces and nephews, she was a source of wisdom and warmth for her family. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Claude "Baldy" Stapleton; her brother, Sam Ivins (Shirley); her sister, Barbara Koons (Kenneth); her mother, Kathleen Ivins; and her father, Walter Ivins. She leaves behind a loving family, her daughter, Linda Malinowski (Stapleton); son, John Stapleton (Vera Stapleton); grandchildren, Jenny Caffrey (Brock Henderson), Shaun Malinowski (Bridget Malinowski), Paige Dvorak (Alex Dvorak), and Shelby Jones (Austin Jones) Josh Bozile Sahsa Bond-Soiz, Talia Bond, Robin Howell; great-grandchildren, Ema Grace, Miles, Jace, Ellie, and Lucas, RJ, Russel, Addy, Jackson, Logan and numerous nieces and nephews. Nancy was a witty, independent woman who spoke her mind and was always there when you needed her. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at Springboro Cemetery Chapel on July 8th visitation beginning at 1:00 pm with service to follow. Reverend Wes Meeks officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Dayton or the walk to End Alzheimers in her memory.
