Nicholas Hollenkamp

HOLLENKAMP, NICHOLAS C., age 76 of Kettering passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 20, 2013. He is survived by his life partner of 30 years, Donna Evick; 5 children: Anne (Jeff) Fehrman, Nicholas Hollenkamp, M.D., Bill Hollenkamp, Mary Frances (Rob) Kramer, and Carol Hollenkamp; 13 grandchildren: Jacob, Nicholas III, Nicole, Katie, Sarah, Joey, Hannah, Eric, Caroline, Abby, Karina, Sean and Tommy; and 3 sisters: Merrilee Salmon, Charlotte (Dick) Huebler, Judy (Jim) McGinley and Laurie (Jack) Massey. He also shared a close relationship with Donna's son, Douglas Evick.

Nicholas C. Hollenkamp has been a highly respected lawyer in Dayton for almost 50 years. He specialized in business law and retired from the Dayton office of Dinsmore & Shohl. Hollenkamp earned his BA at Xavier University, his MBA at Indiana University, and his law degree from the University of Cincinnati. After graduating from UC in 1964, he immediately went to work at an established Dayton law firm which later became Turner, Granzow & Hollenkamp and eventually named him managing partner. He fulfilled that role for many years until merging the firm with Dinsmore & Shohl, where he continued to work as a partner until retiring to an of counsel position.

A man with great work ethic and tremendous integrity, Hollenkamp believed in giving back to his community and profession. To that end, he has put countless hours of volunteer work into his longtime roles as President of the Board of Trustees for the St Joseph's Residential Treatment Center previously located in Dayton, Secretary of the Board of Managers for the United States Air Force Museum Foundation, Board Member of the Weston Wabash Foundation, and Master (later Master Emeritus) of the Carl D. Kessler Inn of Court mentoring program for lawyers. In 2001, Nicholas C. Hollenkamp's outstanding career and service to his community were publically recognized when a large group of his professional colleagues nominated him for and he was awarded the prestigious Honorable Walter H. Rice Honorary Alumni Award from University of Dayton School of Law.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 24th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd, Kettering. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 26th at Church of the Holy Angles, 1322 Brown Street, Dayton.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made In honor of Nicholas C.
