The family moved to Ohio during the depression for work, settling first in Blanchester, and then later in Dayton. During WWII Toni worked on bombsights for Bickford, Inc. In 1943, she married Lt. Russel “Russ” Milanick (US Army Air Corps), and a year later became a mother to daughter Tanya. Following the war, she and her husband managed a summer-stock theater with the John Kinley Players in Deerlake, PA; then, they moved to Philadelphia where Russ completed law studies at Temple University. Thereafter, they resided in the Dayton area for the rest of their lives. Toni’s daughter Tanya, married Lt. Harold “Hal” McGinnis USMC, in 1966, and had two children. Toni enjoyed being close with her large extended family. She enjoyed traveling, visiting her daughter and grandchildren at the various military installations her son-in-law was stationed.
