IACOVONE, Patrick V. age 94, of Washington Twp. passed away peacefully surrounded by his family the evening of June 12th. Patrick was born June 7, 1920 in Flushing, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michaelangelo & Josephine, brother Joseph. Also mother and father in-law Mary and Thomas, sister-in-law Patricia and brothers-in law Howard and Donald. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rhea Francis (Fitzgerald), 4 children, Barbara (Craig) Goines, Michael (Stephanie) Iacovone, John (Anne) Iacovone and Karen Iacovone, 10 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. Patrick spent his youth in Corona, Queens, New York. He moved to Ohio in the late 1930's. He served in the Armed Forces during WWII in the European Theatre. After the war, he was re-employed at WPAFB. He retired from the base after 40 years of service. Patrick was very active in the Knights of Columbus holding numerous local and state offices. He organized an Ushers Program at the old Baujan Field and UD Arena. He was also an active member of the Sons of Italy- John Pirelli Lodge. Family will receive friends Monday, June 16th from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 17th at 10:30 am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Kettering, Ohio. Interment will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Centerville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite charity in Patrick's name.
