Paul Bennett

BENNETT, Paul D. "Dave" age 80, passed away August 15, 2012, with his family by his side. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Irene Bennett, and his beloved wife, Patricia. Survivors include his children Marcy Smith (grandson Jim Smith), Jane Bennett, Jeff Bennett, Dave Bennett (wife Diane, and daughters Ginger & Loren ) and Lisa Officer (husband Rick ). A special mention to his loving companion, Pauline Touchman for her care of our father during this difficult time. Dave was a graduate of The Ohio State University. Out of college he worked at Lazarus in downtown Columbus and then the Battelle Memorial Institute. He later relocated his family to Kettering and was employed at Technology Incorporated. Dave's first loyalty was always for his family's well-being. His passions were the simple pleasures of life; walking along a Florida or Hilton Head beach, riding his bike, or listening to music at a outdoor concert. He liked nothing better than waking up to a sunny morning and getting out and enjoying the great outdoors, whistling as he went about his day. He also enjoyed following the Buckeyes and sports in general. Dave had a wonderful gift of reaching out to people and showing kindness. He loved talking and getting to know all those he came into contact with. People responded to him and he made many friends throughout his life. After his wife, Patty, passed in 2003, he began volunteering at Miami Valley Hospital. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but his spirit and goodness will forever live on in their hearts and thoughts.
