SCHREIBER, Paul W. 84, of Kettering passed away Thursday, January 22, 2009. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Aleen M. Schreiber; sister-in-law, Esther Schreiber of Red City, California; great niece, Kim Amsbaugh of Palo Alto, California; nephews Roger Thompson of Kissimmee, Florida and Bruce Thompson of Melbourne, Florida; and cousin Mary Kay of Dayton. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Gertrude Schreiber. Paul graduated from Miamisburg High School in 1942 and served in the Army in Europe from 1943 to 1945. He received a Bachelor of Science in physics and math from the University of Dayton in 1950 and later received a Masters Degree at Ohio State University and completed course work for a Ph.D. at the University of Cincinnati. Paul was employed for 28 years at Wright Patterson Air Force Base where he retired. During that time he was also a teacher at the Air Force Institute of Technology. He was a recipient of numerous awards for scientific research to include the prestigious S.D. Heron Award. Paul was a member of many organizations to include the Leo Meyer Society, the John Stuart Society, American Legion and VFW. Mass will be held at Our Lady of Good Hope Church in Miamisburg on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. with graveside service with military honors to be held at Hill Grove Cemetery immediately following. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 26 at Westbrock Funeral Home, Bigger Road, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson's Disease Center on behalf of Paul.
