Paul O. Soehner Jr, 85, of Miamisburg, passed away at 11:46 p.m., Wednesday, January 18th, 2023 at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton in the loving presence of family.
On November 29th, 1958, Paul married the love of his life, Joanne Burnette. Together, they raised four children in the Bellbrook/Sugarcreek area and then retired to Miamisburg, Ohio. Paul and Joanne were married for 64 years and had a marriage that most strive for. Paul loved Joanne fiercely with all of his heart and it was evident to everyone around them.
Paul had a vibrant passion for people and his personality filled the room wherever he went. He knew no stranger and tirelessly loved every individual who had the privilege to know him. Paul had a couple ministries in his life. His hug ministry was filled with compassion and the thought that a hug could change a person's day and make them feel wanted. He also had a fatherhood ministry for many who considered Paul their own dad. They often looked up to him knowing he would be there for them as well as his own family. Paul loved to laugh, tell jokes and infect everyone with his laughter, smile and love for life.
Paul worked 15 years at McCalls, 27 years at ABF Arkansas Best Freight and almost 20 years at Dorothy Lane Market. Paul worked multiple part time jobs to supplement his income to provide for his wife and kids.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Soehner Senior and Geneva (Schroll) Soehner. Paul is survived by his wife, Joanne; children, Paul III (Rhonda Portalatin) Soehner, Theresa (Bill) Lawson, Doug Soehner, Eric (Laurie) Soehner; grandchildren, William (Lisa) Lawson, Joshua Lawson, Leanne (Josh) Erwin, Madeline Soehner, Caroline Mcclerkin, Alanna Soehner, Willow Soehner; 6 great grandchildren, Hunter, Nick, Brinley, Makenna, Stanley, and Addison. He is also survived by sisters; Margaret Krapf, Barbara Hughes, Geneva (Timothy) Rank and a brother, Ronald Soehner.
