WESTENDORF, Pauline M. “Polly”, age 94 of Dayton passed away peacefully on Friday, May 26, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Dayton on September 1, 1922 to the late Anthony and Irene (Finke) Zink. Also preceding her in death is her beloved husband, Jerry Westendorf; son, Edward; sister, Serena Wehner and brother, Bill Zink. Pauline is survived by her children, Ann (Bill) Hirt, Mary (Jim) Scherl, Mark (Mary Tom) Westendorf, Betty (Dave) Krebs, Tom (Susie) Westendorf, Jane Westendorf (Kevin O’Hearn); 26 grandchildren; 35 (+++) great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Julie Zink and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pauline graduated from Julienne High School in 1940 and University of Dayton in 1943. The family would like to thank the staff of The Carlyle House, Hospice of Dayton and niece, Polly Wehner for their compassionate care. Friends and family may visit from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, May 30 at Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave, Dayton. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 31 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Dayton. Pauline will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent De Paul, House of Bread, St. Joseph’s Church or The Marianist Mission, in her memory. Pauline was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be missed by all. Her warm spirit and tender heart made all feel welcomed and loved in her presence.
