BEACH, PHILIP TIMMONS, died on October 9, 2008 in Centerville, Ohio after a lengthy illness. Philip was born to Margaret T. and John N. Beach on December 22, 1934 in Springfield, Ohio. He attended St. Bernard School and Catholic Central High School where he graduated in 1952. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers John II, Dr. Douglas, Daniel, John III, Dr. Thomas, and his sister Betty DeWitt-Kenney. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Varley Beach; children Bill and Lisa Wagner of Houston, TX, Michael and Francine Beach of Centerville, OH, Kathleen Beach of Ashburn, VA, Mimi Fisher of Charlotte, NC, and Tim and Pam Beach of Trenton, OH as well as grandchildren, Catherine and Melissa Wagner, Kaitlin, Lauren, and Dylan Fisher, Julianna and Madison Beach, and Chelsea and Selena Schmit. He is survived by other family members Jean Stanley, Gera Hempelman, Margaret Anne Murray, Bill Beach, Mary Ann Beach, Norma Beach, Joan Beach, and Richard and Marjorie Beach. After graduating from the University of Dayton in 1956, Phil joined The Kroger Company, where he achieved success and recognition in a number of roles until retiring in 1977. He continued working for several Dayton area Food Brokers and other grocery related businesses. Throughout his career, Phil was an active member of The Dayton Food Trade Association, where performed the duties of Secretary for over 20 years. His many friendships are enduring and continue to support to his family. To honor his dedication to the food industry and in lieu of flowers, make contributions to St. Vincent de Paul, The House of Bread, both in Dayton, OH or to your local food bank. Services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Kettering, OH. The family will receive friends and family, beginning at 9:30 am with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Inurnment will follow at David's Cemetery in Dayton, OH. The Westbrock Funeral Home handling arrangements (937-253-6161).
