Philip Rizzo

Philip Rizzo Jr., 92, of Centerville, Ohio passed away on January 31, 2017 at Miami Valley Hospital. Phil was born and raised in Middletown, Ohio and was the ninth of 10 children born to Philip (Sr.) and Augustina (Scalia) Rizzo. He graduated with honors from Middletown High School in 1942. Phil earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business in 1948 from Miami University where he was a member of the Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity. Phil continued his education at Xavier University earning a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) in January 1956.
Phil was employed at Standard Register for 25 years in the finance department and worked at Wright State University as the Associate Director of Budget and Regents Reporting for 20 years, retiring in 1992.
Phil had many interests but traveling was one of his favorite pastimes. His love of adventure allowed him to experience exotic places such as Mexico, South America, Paris and other European cities. His home was decorated with many beautiful mementos of his travels.
Phil is survived by his sister, Gussie Boario and his niece, Margo Leeker.
Services will be held at St. Leonard Church at 8100 Clyo Road in Centerville on Monday February 6. Visitation will be at 10:00 am followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery in Middletown.
