Phillip Stephenson

Stephenson, Phillip R. 74, of Washington Twp. Ohio passed away at his home on Monday, March 17, 2025. Born to the late Claude E. & Sadie C (Schmidt) Stephenson. Survived by his siblings Melwyn (Julie), David (Debbie), sister Susan Fabricous, daughters Cathy Walters, Christina Bodel, & numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents Claude E. & Sadie, brothers, Stephen, Claude R. Eugene, Ralph, & son Phillip Jr.

An Army 82nd Airborne Military veteran serving 2 tours in Vietnam as a combat veteran notably as a Tunnel Rat.

A member of the Kettering American legion Post 598 for 15+ years and an officer for nearly 10 years until his passing.

Phil loved the post and was there daily doing whatever needed attention, and most of all being with his fellow veterans he enjoyed and respected.

Viewing will be at Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd., Kettering on Tuesday, March 25 from 4-7 pm, with American Post 598 performing the Post Everlast Ceremony at 5:30. Burial will be at the Dayton VA Cemetery with military honors Wednesday, March 26 at 9:00 am.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Kettering American Legion Post 598 following the cemetery services from 11-2 where food will be serviced by the posts Lady Auxiliary.
