Phyllis Louise Seibel (Brinkman), age 89 Passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 31st, 2017 with family by her side.
Phyllis was born on April 16th, 1928 to Maurice and Estelle Brinkman in Dayton, OH. She was always thankful for having had a Catholic education including St. Anthony, Immaculate Conception, and Julienne High School. Upon her graduation, Phyllis worked as a medical secretary and went on to marry Melvin C. Seibel and become a wife, mother, homemaker, and devoted Mamaw.
In addition to being a charter and devout member of St. Helen Parish, Phyllis committed her time to several organizations including Dayton Catholic Women’s Club, Board of Church Women United, and Jr. Council of Catholic Women. She had a passion for reading, sewing, gardening, baking, attending business/science courses, and playing games. Despite her busy schedule, Phyllis devoted her time to the wellbeing of her children, grandchildren and friends.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her son Michael (Barbara) Seibel; daughters Patricia (Pete) Kisielewski and Angela Bentley; a sister Carol (Elvin) Isgrig; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Katie, Jessica, Adrienne, and Amanda; seven great grandchildren, Benjamin, Kaleb, Natalie, Madison, Avery, Luke and Evan: and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Phyllis: wife, mother, sister, aunt, mamaw and friend…you will be forever loved, missed and cherished by all those whose lives you have touched.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 5th from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 6th at St. Helen Church, 605 Granville Pl. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul or St. Helen Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home and in the church vestibule.
