WOLF, Robert J. (Jim), age 80 of Dayton, Ohio passed away on April 4, 2017. He was born on December 3, 1936 in Dayton, Ohio to the late, Robert and Gertrude (Seubert) Wolf. Jim is survived by his sisters, Sandy Wolf and Barbara Cox; his brother, Mike (Pam) Wolf; nieces, Shelly (Jay) Smithberger, Kelli (Joe) Lemire and nephews, Doug (Beckie) Wolf, Dave (Kathy) Huelsman; great-nephews, Kyle Lemire, Elliot Smithberger, Colin Huelsman, Jonah Huelsman and his beloved dog, Mika. Jim lived and worked his entire life in the Dayton area. He was an accomplished pianist and organist and had a long and highly respected 38 year career as a choir and band director at local area schools and churches. He received a Bachelor’s in Music from the University of Dayton in 1959 and a Master’s in Music from the Ohio State University in 1966. He retired as a band director from Oakwood City Schools in 1992, however continued on as organist, choir director and Minister in Music at St. Charles Parish in Kettering until 1998. He retired as organist, choir director and Minister of music from St. John the Baptist in Tipp City, on Easter Sunday in 2016. Jim was a kind and generous man and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed hosting the annual family reunions, traveling with his sister Sandy and visiting with friends. He will be greatly missed by all. Friends and family may visit from 4-7pm on Monday, April 10 at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave., Dayton. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am on Tuesday, April 11 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Bowen St., Dayton. Jim will then be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Anthony’s Church or St. St. John the Baptist Church.
