Rachel Alejandrino

BON, Rachel Alejandrino Age 50 of Washington Twp. died July 20, 2011 surrounded by a host of family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband Timothy Joseph and his parents Theodore and Judith DeMange Bon and brother-in-law, Terrance Alan Bon. Her parents, Dr. Sergio and Lynn Kelly Alejandrino. Three sisters and one brother; Rebecca Alejandrino, Suzanne, Mrs. Thomas Homan and their children Will and Lindsay; Sarah, Mrs. Travis Mouse and their children Joshua, Abigail and Grant, Sergio San Jose Alejandrino,ll, and his wife Stephanie Smith Alejandrino and their children Shelby and Seth and numerous loving extended family and friends. Rachel was born in the Philippines and came to the United States as an infant and lived her life in Dayton, Ohio. Rachel was a graduate of Alter High School and the University of Dayton where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics and Fashion Merchandising She worked at the Metropolitan Clothing Co., was a buyer for Donenfelds Stores, established Rachel's of Dayton and Rachel's of Hyde Park in Cincinnati. She was also a buyer for the ElderBeerman Stores. Rachel was a long time member of Incarnation Parish. She was a dedicated community volunteer, serving among others The American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society and Clothes that Work. Rachel was born with congenital heart disease and was a long time patient of Dr. Benjamin Schuster to whom she credited along with Dr. Carole Warnes of the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN with her long and happy and productive life. In the last weeks of her life she contracted pneumonia and died from its complications. The family thanks the heroic effort of her physicians, Dr. Ratnam and Amita Oza, Dr.Ceferino Cata, Dr. Dharmesh V. Gandhi and Dr. Mukul Chandra and the caring and talented staff at Miami Valley Hospital Heart and Vascular Center. Rachel contributed much to her family and her community by her spirit and kindness. She would, of course, appreciate contributions to support your charity as we always should but in her memory a party with your family and friends would be very appropriate. Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, July 26 at 10:30 am at the Church of the Incarnation. Family will receive friends 4 to 8 pm Monday at the Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd. Burial at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton. Our beautiful Rachel has left a very big hole in our lives. Pray for us...
