THOMAS, Rev. William Victor age 83 passed away at Hospice of Dayton, Monday February 13, 2017. Bill was born in Dayton to the late Robert and Elizabeth (Merrick) Thomas. Fr. Bill graduated from Chaminade High School in 1950 and from the University of Dayton in 1955. He attended St. Gregory Seminary and was ordained a priest in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati in 1962. Fr. Bill taught at McNicholas High School and Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati and was associate pastor and pastor at a number of parishes in the Dayton-Cincinnati area. He is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters-in-law Robert (Alice), Eugene (Helen) and Richard (Mary) Thomas and nephew David Thomas. Rev. Bill Thomas is survived by nieces and nephews, Carol Stroud, Pamela Stuckert, Michael (Martha) Thomas, Joyce (Edward) Ray, Kevin Thomas, Teresa Thomas, Betsey (Richard) Redinger, Rosalie (Richard) Koesel, Nancy (Mark) Gillotti, Steven (Milagros) Thomas, Anne Thomas and husband Scott McGovern, Amy Thomas and husband Sergio Boniche and Mary Beth Thomas. Also survived by 22 great nieces and nephews, 7 great great nieces and nephews and many special friends. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Fr. Bill’s memory to the University of Dayton, 300 College Park, Dayton, OH 45469. Reception of the Body at 4:00 p.m. with Fr. Chris Worland presiding and visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 17 at St. Henry Catholic Church 6696 Springboro Pike, Dayton, OH 45449. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Bishop Joseph Binzer at the church, at 10:00 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
