Amann, Richard J. "Dick" passed away on Monday, March 1, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Helmig) of 60 years; his son, Dick and his daughter, Peggy Grunkemeyer. Other survivors include his son-in-law, Mark Grunkemeyer, grandchildren, Beth Grunkemeyer Campbell (Chad) of Charlotte, NC, Tom Grunkemeyer; great grandchildren, Alex, Addyson and Alivia Campbell. Other survivors include extended family members and friends, Dan Busse, Lisa Kuhn, Jim and Thelma Helmig, Sue Helmig, Tom Amann, Rita Amann Baxter and special sister-in-law, Jayne Helmig. Dick was born in Dayton, July 3, 1928 to Amelia and Hans Amann. He graduated from Chaminade H.S. in 1946 and attended the University of Dayton. He founded the General Fixture and Supply Company in 1955 where he served the food service industry until his retirement. Dick was a member of the Milton Athletic Club, The Spring Run Trout Club, the AFTA and a charter member of St. Charles Borromeo Church. Friends may visit the Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd., Thursday, March 4 from 4:00-8:00. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 AM Friday March 5 at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please remember those charities close to Dick: St. Vincent de Paul, The Monsignor Robert Amann Foundation and Hospice of Dayton. The family would like to thank the professional staff of Miami Valley Hospital and Hospice of Dayton for their expert and caring service.
