Richard "Rick" Estes

Richard “Rick” Estes, 71, of Centerville, Ohio, passed peacefully surrounded by family after a long brave battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Born August 24, 1953 in South Carolina to Clayton and Beulah Estes. Rick was the oldest of four (4) children, graduated from Miamisburg High School in 1971 and obtained his degree in Pharmacy in June of 1977 from The Ohio State University.

During college, Rick met the love of his life, Maria Moorman, and they were united in marriage on July 16, 1977. Rick and Maria celebrated 52 years together. Through their endless love they created a vibrant, loving family which will carry on his legacy for many years to come. Rick was preceded in death by his parents and three (3) infant daughters: Angele Marie, Mary Martha Anne, and Catherine Maria. Rick is survived by his best friend, and partner in life, Maria. He is also survived by his pride and joy, his children: Gregory (Jen) Estes, Aimee (Justin) McKinney, David (Adrienne) Estes, Matthew (Sarah) Estes, Jessica Holiga. He leaves behind his fifteen adoring grandchildren: Natasha (Jason), Joseph, Emma, Richard, Lily, Jackson, Ben, Colin, Abigail, Grace, Josephine, Elle, Gabriel, Thomas, Miles and three (3) great grandchildren: Lexxi, Damian, Kehlani. Surviving as well are his brothers Greg (Betty) Estes, Gary Estes, and Nancy (Robbie) Peyton and many nephews, nieces and their descendants.

Rick had a love for music and enjoyed passing this love to his children and grandchildren (Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, etc). Rick was an avid fisherman and loved to fish with his children, grandchildren, and anyone who wanted to join. Growing up, his grandparents, aunts, uncles, mom, dad, brothers and sister, would get together and fish. In recent years, he got great enjoyment from fishing with his brothers, kids and grandkids. He was a very patient teacher and didn’t mind spending countless hours in the sun baiting hooks and untangling lines. Rick enjoyed traveling and took his family on many adventures over the years (exploring the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, relaxing on the beaches of the Outer Banks, NC, road tripping through the western United States, and spending their anniversary in Hawaii). He also loved the trips that he took with Gary, Greg, Betty, and Maria. Rick enjoyed watching his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes and NASCAR with his loved ones.

Rick was a Revco/CVS Pharmacist for 42 years dedicating his career to improving the health of others. He had a wealth of pharmaceutical knowledge and shared it with anyone who needed help. His passion for pharmacy led many family members, including his son Matthew, to join him at CVS.
