Richard Schuermann

SCHUERMANN, Richard W. "Dick" age 77, of Kettering, passed away peacefully Wednesday January 21, 2009 at Kettering Hospital with his family at his side. Dick, above all, was a devoted husband, father & "Papa". He was a veteran of the United States Army, a Charter Member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and a 40 year member of Walnut Grove Country Club. He spent his working career in sales and was a manager of the Mead Merchant Group upon his retirement. Mr. Schuermann was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Donald Schuermann. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Joan; a daughter and son-in- law, Jennifer and Bart Browne; three sons and daughters-in-law, Rusty and Lauren, Matt and Jane, John and Belinda Schuermann; 11 grandchildren, Maggie & Bart Browne; Emilee & Hadley Schuermann; Samantha, Emma, Claire & Lucy Schuermann; Allison, Richard, Benjamin, & Jenny Schuermann; a sister, Jeanne Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am Monday at St. Charles Borromeo Church with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3-6pm at The Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Road in Kettering. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Smiles Train or PALS for Life. The family would like to thank Dr. Stuart Merl, Dr. John Duchak III, and the staff at Kettering Hospital for all of their compassion and professional care.
