Richard J. Westendorf

Westendorf, Richard J., age 93, of Dayton, passed away June 29, 2015. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW 2. Richard was a member of Dayton Rotary, a former member of Horizons Band, Centerville Community Band, Kettering Civic Band, and the Dayton Guild of Organists. He was an avid bridge player and played Bridge for Charities at Holy Angels Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy F. Westendorf and a grandson, Gregory Hoctor. Richard is survived by his daughters, Angela Westendorf of Oakwood and Darlene (Dan) Hoctor of Wheaton, IL; 3 grandchildren, Sarah, Patrick (Ruthie) and Katia (Jules); and 7 great- grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Holy Angels in Dayton on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, July 1 from 4-7:00 pm at the Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave. in Dayton.
