KINDERMAN, Rita R. (Balster) passed away peacefully at her home in Washington Township January 29, her 68th birthday. She was born in Carthagena, OH to Albina (Heitkamp) and John Balster and is survived by her spouse of 45 years, Robert, son Gary of Columbus, OH, and daughters Julie and spouse Dwight Burgess of Columbus, OH and Janet and spouse Todd Sabatino of Alliance, OH and grandchildren Krystin, Michael and John Burgess and Anthony and Alexis Sabatino. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Werner and sister-in-law Karen but is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law Elsie (Werners wife) of Maria Stein, OH, Harold and his wife Shirley of St Henry, OH, Lester and his wife Rae Ann of Appleton, WI, Ralph (wife Karen deceased) of Phoenix, AZ, Dennis and his wife Beverly of Vandalia, OH, and Delbert and his wife Beatsy of Tipp City, OH; and by her sisters and brothers-in-law Margie and spouse Terry Boeckman of Coldwater, OH and Bernice and spouse Gene Liening of Freeland, MI and by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Rita was a member of St Charles Catholic Church where she previously taught CCD classes and was a member of the Liturgy Commission. She volunteered at the Corner Cupboard Charities since 2001. She was quite popular as a seamstress and as the chef of killer chocolate cakes and rhubarb pies. She was one of her class salutatorians in 1951 at St Henry High School. She coached various Kettering, OH youth soccer teams, even once taking first place with a perfect 10-0 season. She loved ping-pong, UD basketball and was addicted to all types of aerobic exercises. She began work as a teller at National City Bank and retired as Head of the Training Department. Rita was one of the kindest, meekest persons you could ever hope to meet; always placing others first; polite, positive, smiling, loving, never complaining; working the hardest and finishing what she started; a friend ready to help anyone. Visitation will be Feb 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Westbrock Funeral Home, 5980 Bigger Rd and Feb 13 at 9:30 a.m. at St Charles Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd followed at 10:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by brother-in-law Fr. Dennis Kinderman, C.PP.S. There will be a Celebration Of Life Luncheon immediately after Mass at the Presidential Banquet Center until about 6 p.m. to which all are invited. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Dayton or a charity of your choice.
